Abstract: Length of duration of fish oil intervention potentiates microbial shift. A. Time (in days) breast cancer patients were taking oral fish oil or placebo supplements. Short-term administration is classified as less than or equal to 14 days (n=5) and long-term administration is classified as greater than or equal to 17 days (n=8) of intervention. B. Patient BMI by group display no difference in BMI by intervention or length of intervention groups. C. Relative proportional abundance of tumor and tumor-adjacent mammary gland microbiome by group. Each bar represents a subject and each colored box a bacterial taxon. The height of a color box represents the relative abundance of that organism within the sample. 'Other' represents lower abundance taxa. D. Taxonomic profile of identified genera in breast tumor and tumor adjacent mammary gland tissue samples obtained from breast cancer patients taking oral fish oil supplements grouped by length of intervention.
