Abstract: Supplementary Fig. 5. Adrenomedullin increases reactive oxygen species production. Reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) were detected in INS-1 cells pre-treated with either 1 or 20 pM adrenomedullin for 24 hours. The orange filter detects superoxide and nitric oxide generation, while the green filter detects all reactive oxygen species. Positive control cells were treated with Pyocyanin (Pyo) to induce ROS production and negative control cells were treated with Pyo + N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) to inhibit ROS production.
