Sequential redo-bilateral lung transplantation in recipient with prior heart-lung transplantation with tracheal anastomosis
Year: 2023
Type: article
Abstract: Redo lung transplantation for chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) is technically complex. Unfortunately, CLAD remains the primary cause of long-term graft failure and mortality after lung transplantation with redo transplantation as the only therapy. Experience demonstrates increased surgical complication after previous cardiothoracic surgery1 with decreased survival after redo lung transplantation;2 however, few investigations discuss the complexities of redo lung transplantation after a heart-lung transplant.
