Abstract: Motivated by string theory, we propose that non-local quantum corrections to large extremal black holes must be suppressed by local higher-derivative terms (classical corrections). We show that this condition implies the species bound in all even dimensions, is motivated by Weak Gravity Conjecture, and is necessary for the mild form of the Weak Gravity Conjecture in supersymmetric theories with more than supercharges.
