Abstract: The two main buildings in the western annexe of the fort at Newstead, Roxburghshire, are interpreted as a mansio and a bath-house. A sequence of development is proposed for them and a tentative suggestion is made that a numerus may have been garrisoned with a milliary auxiliary regiment in the second Antonine period.
