Abstract: My name is Leon Jordan. I have a learning disability and dyspraxia. At first this was hard to deal with, but I realised it was a gift because it helps me not to be afraid and to ask for help if I need it. I use it as a guide to inspire others. That’s where the fighting spirit comes into play. I write poems. Some of them may be upsetting but mostly they are about spirituality and state of mind. I work as a Research Assistant on a project to help people with learning disabilities plan for when they are dying. Bottling up feelings can be seen as admirable, worthy or noble but it can severely affect a person. A lesson I've learned the hard way is that bottling up feelings is destructive. It's understandable why we do it. We don't tell feelings because we're afraid of burdening people. But you should not be suffering in silence This artwork is soul searching and soul cleansing to show people that even though they have these feelings all tangled, they shouldn't be scared of them. Some feelings are scary. But there are people: family, carers, counsellors. You can access these routes of escape any time.
