Abstract: In my contribution to the collection at https://dd70th.weebly.com marking the 70th birthday of David Deutsch I suggest that hitherto unrecognised properties of the Newton gravitational potential made scale-invariant through multiplication by the N-body root-mean-square length hint at redundancy of quantum wave functions for the explanation of physical effects.
