Postabsorptive muscle protein synthesis is higher in outpatients as compared to inpatients
Year: 2023
Type: article
Abstract: The postabsorptive muscle protein synthesis rate is lower in the morning after an overnight inpatient hospital stay compared with an outpatient visit. Although only a minimal amount of steps was conducted by outpatients (∼900), this was enough to increase postabsorptive muscle protein synthesis rate.
