Abstract: This paper intends to investigate the process of translating through shedding light on the relative thinking within cognitive stylistics perspective. In a method of seeing how to understand the world and that by a process of mental representation the language is conceived. Mental representations through which people communicate is established on the language they employ, the mental representations of people involve their knowledge, and their previous experience. Having analyzed translations of Hawking’s book “a brief history of time” 1988, relying on two Arabic translations. The paper concludes that translators differ in their manifestations of language in terms of the linguistic capacities, non-linguistic cognitive abilities, and of the communicative functions.
