Abstract: (Cell Reports 42, 112615; June 27, 2023) In the original version of this article, published online June 7th, 2023, the reference section was erroneously out of order, which caused the reference citations to link to the wrong papers. The order of the reference list has now been corrected. The scientific conclusions of the paper were unaffected by the error. Production sincerely apologizes for the error and any resulting confusion. Pancreatic islet protection at the expense of secretory function involves serine-linked mitochondrial one-carbon metabolismPelligra et al.Cell ReportsJune 7, 2023In BriefPelligra et al. find that chronic exposure to high doses of KATP-dependent insulin secretagogues protects islets from cell death at the expense of secretory function. Dysfunctional islets upregulate serine-linked OCM genes and glucose flux to serine. Simultaneous knockdown of serine-linked mitochondrial OCM genes enhances insulin secretion but decreases islet viability. Full-Text PDF Open Access
