Abstract: The cases, concepts, and ideas presented in the chapters of this handbook were rigorously discussed during the international symposium on "Mainstreaming Quality of Life (QOL) in Evaluation of Transport and Spatial Planning" facilitated by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and organized in association with Chubu University.This event enabled the contributors of this edited volume to present and refine their findings.Exchange of their world views with other eminent academicians, development leaders, government officials, consultants, and managers in the field of transportation planning, policy, development, and management was also witnessed.We thank the participants and the contributors for their cooperation, efforts, and precious time that helped in the finalization of this edited volume.We appreciate the contributors' outstanding and illustrious submissions
