Review of: "Side effects of COVID-19 vaccination in Pakistani population: A cross sectional study"

Year: 2023
Type: peer-review
Abstract: Potential competing interests: No potential competing interests to declare.Because the goal of this article is to help improve the public perception and confidence towards COVID-19 vaccination in the Pakistani popuation, I think that would be best reached by simplifying the presentation of the study information. For example instead of including vaccine-specific figures for Figures 1 and2, a summary figure would be easier to see and understand. The supplementary tables capture the individual vaccine details for interested readers.A combined table would also be more in line with the sample size calculation.Instead of Table 3 which is hard for a lay person to interpret, I recommend including a table that shows risk estimates (ORs) for all vaccines combined stratified by age, gender, and BMI for the side effects of interest.Similar comments as those for Figures 1 and 2 apply for Figures 3 and4.Because most of the ORs in figure 5 are small and the CIs are less and 30, it would improve readability to increase the size of the x axis between 0 and 30 and then put in a break to shows that the 95% CI% for tinnitus reaches almost 100.
