Decoding the molecular crosstalk between grafted stem cells and the stroke-injured brain

Year: 2023
Type: article
Abstract: (Cell Reports 42, 112353; April 25, 2023) In the originally published version of this article, Figure 3B shows the functions of the graft secretome genes that are upregulated when the graft is in the stroke versus the naive brain; APOE and COL6A1 should not have been included, as these genes are downregulated. Figure 3B has now been corrected online and appears below. Very minor changes to the text in the results section describing Figure 3B have also been made. The authors wish to emphasize that the conclusions derived from Figure 3B did not change; however, they sincerely regret these errors and any unintended confusion that may have resulted.Figure 3Graft secretome is modulated by the host environment (original)View Large Image Figure ViewerDownload Hi-res image Download (PPT) Decoding the molecular crosstalk between grafted stem cells and the stroke-injured brainAzevedo-Pereira et al.Cell ReportsApril 11, 2023In BriefStem cell therapy shows promise for neurological disorders; however, the molecular crosstalk between host and grafted cells is largely unknown. Azevedo-Pereira et al. apply biological and bioinformatic tools to simultaneously identify host and graft transcriptomes and their subsequent interactions; they highlight the significance of host microenvironment on the graft secretome.
