K-Waves, the Evolving Global Economy, and World Politics
Year: 1994
Type: article
Abstract: Over the past millenium (since 930), the global economy may be shown to have experienced 19 K-waves, viewed as non-linear surges of globally significant leading sectors. These movements have also been closely synchronized, over the same long time-span, with the rise and fall of world powers (and their antecedants). The joint action of these two processes may be interpreted as driving the coevolution of global politics and economics.
