Abstract: studies about Ancient Israel have deconstructed the linear and monotheistic perspective, bequeathed to the West by the Judeo-Christian tradition. Such deconstruction exposes complex issues of class, gender and religion in Ancient Israel, completely ignored in the linearity of tradition, concerned only with piety or deviation from a perennial monotheism. This article presents a brief summary of this framework, as well as the importance of presenting it beyond the religious tradition, in Elementary School and in law school, since Israeli civilization is present in both cases.
