Abstract: Word Class Formations and Word Formation Processes in German In this article, we would like to examine changes and development trends in the German language. They are firmly related to system development, whereby the diachronic aspect of the language must be included. Both terms contain "characteristics that make a historical understanding of the language seem necessary" (Braun 1987, 100). The tendencies in the morphological area of word formation and their productivity are mentioned.
