Dynein‐Powered Cell Locomotion Guides Metastasis of Breast Cancer (Adv. Sci. 31/2023)

Type: article
Abstract: Dynein-Powered Cell Locomotion Human breast adenocarcinoma MDA-MB-231 cell demonstrates metastatic-like adhesion, spreading and migration on the biomimetic collagen matrix. In article number 2302229 by Amir Sheikhi, Denis Tsygankov, Erdem D. Tabdanov, and co-workers, non-canonical breast cancer cells' locomotion mechanism has been identified, based on the motricity of the dynein motors that generate and transmit the mechanical forces between F-actin and microtubules cytoskeletons. Dynein-powered cell locomotion facilitates cell motility in the absence of the conventional myosin-driven cell migration.
