Physical Exercise After Cardiac Arrest Induces Differential Expression of 12 Genes Shared With the Resveratrol Preconditioning Paradigm Associated With Protective Pathways
Year: 2023
Type: article
Abstract: Previous studies in our laboratory have shown that physical exercise (PE) has a beneficial effect after global cerebral ischemia in the asphyxia-induced cardiac arrest (ACA) model, ameliorating cognitive deficits. In this study, we sought to determine if transcriptomic changes occur after PE that may lead to cognitive improvements following ACA. Hippocampal tissue was collected after 5 days of PE, where the first PE treatment was initiated 2 days after ACA. mRNA was isolated and sent to the University of Miami Core facility for RNA-seq and used for differential expressed gene analysis.
