Abstract: The article tells about the role of museums in building the knowledge society, the knowledge economy and its component – the creative economy. Considering the experience of organizing and operating eco-museums, the author analyzes their features and substantiates the need to create such institutions in Azerbaijan. The article also talks about greenways that contribute to the development of tourism, the conservation of biodiversity and environmental protection.
