Abstract: The following bibliographical notes cover Swedish PhD theses and licentiate theses in English and other international languages on philosophical topics, printed in 2022.(The Swedish licentiate exam is intermediate between an MA and a PhD, and a licentiate thesis corresponds to half a PhD thesis.)Previously published bibliographies cover the years 1997-2021.A cumulative index covering the years 1997-2006 can be found in Theoria 73(3): 263-279, 2007, and one covering the years 2007-2016 in Theoria 83(3): 273-293, 2017.The bibliography for 2017 can be found in Theoria 84(3): 278-280, 2018, that for 2018 in Theoria 85(3): 247-250, 2019, that for 2019 in Theoria, 86(3): 425-428, 2020, that for 2020 in Theoria 87(4): 866-869, 2021, and that for 2021 in Theoria, 88(3): 529-531, 2022.A total of seventeen PhD theses and one licentiate thesis are included in this bibliography.Six of them are written by women, and twelve by men.Ekrem Çetinkaya's thesis, Aristotle's Realism About Perceptible Qualities (Department of Philosophy, Uppsala University), investigates Aristotle's views on the ontological status of perceptible qualities and finds that Aristotle assigns a perception-independent existence to these qualities. In Norms and Alternatives: Logical Aspects of Normative Reasoning (Department of Philosophy, Stockholm University), Karl Nygren investigates several new semantic models for deontic logic, with a particular emphasis on models than can elucidate free-choice permissions and obligations.Giacomo Barlucchi has written Computational Content of Fixed Points (licentiate thesis, Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science, University of Gothenburg), in which he studies the computational content of fixed points in two logical systems, one of which is related to intuitionistic mathematics and the other to μ-calculus.Trond A. Tjøstheim's thesis, Contours of Cognition (Department of Philosophy, Lund University), investigates the nature of cognitive processes, emphasizing their roles as means to succeed in accessing food resources and avoiding predation. In Reassessing Realism: On the Ontology of the Unobservable (Department of Philosophy, Stockholm University), Simon Allzén analyzes several aspects of the use of inference to the best explanation to justify scientific realism. The thesis also discusses the justification of inferences supporting the existence of unobservable objects. From Fossil to Fact: The Denisova Discovery as Science in Action (Department of Culture and Society, Linköping University), by Mattis Karlsson, investigates the process of knowledge production that led from the initial discovery of a fossilized finger bone to the recognition of a previously unknown type of humans, the Denisovans.
