Abstract: This intervention research was proposed to help a well-known NGO meet the challenges of transforming into a social enterprise to ensure its survival. This transformation took place at the same time as a transfer of leadership, with the founders handing over to a transitional leader who struggles to engage the actors in the process. An intervention research methodology is adopted, with an emphasis on the potential-hidden-costs approach. The results suggest that the potential-hidden-costs approach represents a lever of engagement in accordance with the socioeconomic management theory. The research also proposes a model of transformation initiated by hidden costs.
