Abstract: Quantum magnetism in two-dimensional semiconductor heterostructures is poorly understood, largely due to a lack of experimental techniques. Recently, the quantum twisting microscope has been introduced to measure the single-particle and collective response of such materials. Here, the authors show the capabilities of the quantum twisting microscope in characterizing magnetism in these materials. This includes both traditional ferromagnetic or antiferromagnetic order and exotic quantum spin liquids, highlighting the potential of quantum twisting microscopes as a powerful tool for improving our understanding of quantum materials.
