Modelling the Brillouin spectrum in Raman amplifier assisted Brillouin OTDR

Abstract: We model and measure the Brillouin power spectrum of Brillouin OTDR assisted by Raman amplification. We show how Raman pump depletion leads to measurement errors due to spectral translation of the Brillouin spectrum.
