Miniaturized Capsule System Toward Real‐Time Electrochemical Detection of H2S in the Gastrointestinal Tract (Adv. Healthcare Mater. 5/2024)

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Ingestible Capsule In article 2302897, Reza Ghodssi and co-workers present an ingestible capsule platform for wireless, real-time detection of intraluminal H2S in the gastrointestinal tract. An electrochemical sensor coated with conductive Nafion polymer enables selective detection of trace H2S concentrations under humid conditions. Integration with embedded electronics and biocompatible packaging aims to illuminate the potential of H2S as an inflammatory biomarker and its role in disease pathogenesis. The authors would also like to credit Chad Smith (Data Visualization and Multimedia Designer, University of Maryland) for designing the cover art.
