Abstract: Marxism in the 21st century left aside what might be Marx’s fundamental contribution, that is, the theory of fetishism. This development is at the core of Marx’s critical approach and, at the same time, a discovery of the real-life underlying the apparent reality of modernity. Marx’s methodological reflection deals not only with Hegelian dialectics but also with modern reality in itself.
