P064: Returning genomic risk for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer: Clinical outcomes through standard of care vs research return of results*
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Returning actionable genomic results (gRoR) to biobank participants can help characterize the penetrance of actionable genetic disorders and the clinical value of population-based screening. In this study, we examined electronic health records (EHR) of hospital-based biobank participants with pathogenic and likely pathogenic variants (PLPVs) associated with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC), comparing clinical outcomes between those who learned this information through the gRoR process to those who learned this information through standard of care.
