P078: Identification of novel germline mutations and copy-number variations in patients with small cell lung cancer
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly aggressive cancer primarily associated with tobacco smoking. Recent findings have identified germline alterations that challenged the assumption that solely tobacco exposure causes SCLC. Currently, the germline of SCLC remains understudied especially copy number variations (CNVs). We sought to identify novel germline alterations through introducing CNV analysis alongside a hybrid-capture gene panel targeting known cancer predisposition and commonly mutated SCLC genes.
