P563: With great panels comes great responsibility: In pursuit of a well-evidenced age-based genomic screen
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: For the past decade, evaluation of medically actionable secondary findings during genomic testing has been a routine part of clinical genomics. There is an opportunity to parlay that experience into population health screening. Multiple studies are exploring molecular genetic supplements to newborn screening. Our Age-Based Genomic Screening study (ABGS) aims to extend these efforts by designing and implementing a molecular public health screen wherein highly actionable conditions are sought out at multiple opportune pediatric timepoints when medical interventions to ameliorate disease are most likely to be beneficial.
