Abstract: As public service professionals, librarians constantly seek to provide better service to their clients. Key to providing optimum service is the ability to understand user needs and perspectives. Perhaps the ultimate in user understanding is the recent phenomenon of embedded librarianship, where librarians go native by living and working right alongside faculty and students in the campus environment, not just in a single visit, but for the duration of the course or learning experience.
