Abstract 1764 Empowering Structural Lipidomics with Isomer-Resolved Mass Spectrometry

Year: 2024
Type: conference-abstract
Abstract: Structural lipidomics has emerged as a fast-developing research field, which aims to resolve lipid isomers that are undetected by conventional analysis methods, discover uncanonical lipid structures, and provide new insights into altered lipid metabolism relevant to health and disease. Isomer-resolved tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is central to structural lipidomics which is expected to identify and quantify lipid isomers without resorting to authentic standards. My group has developed several MS/MS methods for lipid profiling at detailed structural levels, including the C=C location, sn-position, and methyl branching.
