Neighborhood planning: A path-dependent perspective on the gap between discourse and practice, the Israeli case
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: • Israel declared the intention to move to more compact, cohesive and quality urban planning. • Institutional and spatial path dependencies hinder implementing this intention. • Analyzing 131 plans since 1990 exposes the repeating neighborhood structure. • The results include massive loss of open spaces, undiversified car-oriented spaces.
