Type: preprint
This paper develops a new spectral criterion for the solvability of discrete convolution equations over the lattice $\mathbb{Z}^2$. Building on Fourier analysis and the character theory of abelian groups, it is shown that the solvability of the equation $f * a = g$ can be algorithmically verified by the non-vanishing of the Fourier transform $\hat{f}$ on the spectrum of $\hat{g}$. The approach enables a precise semantic characterization and provides numerical inverse transformations for concrete examples. The work is positioned within the context of recent variants of the Periodic Tiling Conjecture (PTC) and relates to questions posed by Greenfeld and Tao (2025).
