Abstract: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is commonly used in neurotology for identifying skull base tumors like vestibular schwannomas.Due to improved MRI technology, clinicians are identifying smaller vestibular schwannomas than before, affecting approaches to management (1).In MRI, the available signal for generating an image is directly proportional to the strength of the static magnetic field. Most clinical scanners use 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla (T) static magnetic fields.Newer 7T MRI scanners are becoming increasingly prevalent but have faced limitations in becoming widespread in clinical practice due to magnetic field inhomogeneity artifacts near the inner ear (2).We present a case of a patient with a left-sided vestibular schwannoma who underwent a 7T MRI, demonstrating clinical-level images of this pathology.
