Heliphyrin: a ring open porphyrinoid with helical chirality

Abstract: We report the template-based synthesis of a new series of ring-open phthalocyanine analogs that exhibit helical chirality. These conjugated helical porphyrinoids also strongly absorb across the entire visible spectrum.
