Consciousness in a Machine
Year: 2024
Type: preprint
Abstract: No issue in neuroscience has attracted more controversy than the phenomenon of consciousness. Common to these debates has been assumption that “only brain matter gives rise to consciousness” (Koch, 2004). Here we forego this prejudice and consider the elements a non-biological machine would need to be conscious.
