A Multi-Disciplinary Curatorial Practice for the Single-Type Object Exhibition

Year: 2022
Type: article
Abstract: The single-type object exhibition, a relatively common one, is easily and conventionally designed alike for the attributes of artifacts. In 2021, the exhibition Infiniteness: Microscosm in Ancient Chinese Bronze Mirrors initiated by Jinhua Museum was a multi-disciplinary curatorial practice. Namely, on a basis of traditional archaeology and study of cultural relics, it adopted a new perspective of anthropology to establish a connection between vision and text through the interpretation on images from art history, and integrate advantages of various disciplines to deal with the shortcomings of the single-type object exhibition.
