Study of the electromagnetic field generated by a magnetic pendulum
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: In this paper the electromagnetic (EM) field expressions for a magnetic pendulum are derived. The mechanical frequency and the magnetic dipole moment are found by applying mechanical-kinetic theory. A study of the expressions reveals that the electromagnetic field contains both the fundamental and higher order harmonic waves, which is quite different from a magnet with simple harmonic motion, and their amplitude ratios are governed by Bessel Functions of the first kind. 1 Hz radiator system is used for the experimental verification. The radiation pattern, the efficiency and the Q factor of the pendulum are discussed in detail. This paper provide the theoretical basis with the experimental verification of the pendulum antenna.
