Abstract: Vector-Free Gene Augmentation Therapy In article number 2401392, Jeremy L. Pinyon, Gary D. Housley, and coworkers describe ‘conductivityclamped’ gene electrotransfer (CC-GET) which broadly enables vector-free nucleic acid therapeutics. In preclinical studies, delivery of neurotrophin-encoding plasmid DNA to the deafened cochlea drove auditory nerve regeneration. In the brain, CC-GET enabled focal expression of photo-activated ion channels that modulated neural excitability relevant to treatment of Parkinson's Disease.
