Alkylation of Adenyne with (Halomethyl)trimethylsilanes

Abstract: The reaction of adenine with (halomethyl)trimethylsilanes HlgCH₂SiMe3 (Hlg = Cl, I) in the presence of a strong base and under neutral conditions was studied. The structure of the reaction products was proven by NMR spectroscopy. For the first time, NMR spectroscopy methods have proven that the interaction of adenine with 1,8-diazabicycloundecene leads to the formation of an adenine anion.
