Abstract: Medical imaging that is based on ionizing radiation aims to do so with the least radiation exposure needed without compromising the requisite quality of the examination. The measurement of this requisite quality, however, is complex, and efforts for its qualification and assurance should be sufficiently informed so as not to negatively impact patient care. In attending to the nascent but imprecise paradigm of image quality measurement, on October 20, 2023, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine hosted a Quality Measures Roundtable in Alexandria, Virginia.
