New distributional record of Henckelia monantha (Gesneriaceae) from India

Abstract: Henckelia monantha only known from China so far is newly recorded for the Flora of India from Arunachal Pradesh. The species is close to Henckelia briggsioides but can be differentiated by its size of the calyx tube as well as the presence and absence of ovary indumentum. Detailed description of H. monantha, live plant photographs and ecology are presented here.
