Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: This article presents a case study of a 64-year-old female patient diagnosed with a meningioma located at the occipital-cervical junction (OCJ). The patient presented with neck pain and radiating pain in the left upper and lower limbs, and was diagnosed with meningioma through imaging studies. We utilized a modified minimally invasive surgical technique to successfully remove the tumor, along with performing a modified cervical laminoplasty (MCL). Postoperatively, the patient's neurological function improved, and there was no tumor recurrence during a 4-years follow-up. In this case, a modified minimally invasive surgical technique was employed, which differs from the traditional surgical approach for skull-base meningioma in several aspects. This technique may improve the postoperative quality of life for the patient and provide valuable reference for similar cases.
