Abstract: Greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring and attribution of emissions to specific sources is a critical need.We are developing a robust fieldable dual comb spectroscopy (DCS) system for continuously monitoring CO 2 and CH 4 based on electro-optic modulators (EOMs).We will also work with colleagues at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to perform vertical-column DCS spectroscopy to a Sandia-operated tethered balloon, providing information about vertical transport of GHGs and elucidating the path towards future measurements to satellites. In line with this objective, we will develop an optical system using faststeering mirrors and adaptive optics to reduce turbulence-induced link losses to enable long distance DCS. Addressing Critical Climate Science NeedsGoal: Develop a low cost, low SWAP DCS system for continuous measurements on the ~10 km scale.• Address Energy and Homeland Security (E&HS) needs • Climate and Arctic condition data • Greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring
