Role of Civil Society Organizations in Empowering PWDs: A Case Study of Disability Rights Action Group

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This article explores the role of CSOs and examines how Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a key role in empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). It focuses on the Disability Rights Action Group (DRAG). The article further examines the plans and actions DRAG uses to stand up for disability rights, make things more accessible, and help PWDs to be more inclusive in society. By looking at DRAG's programs, advocacy, and efforts to change policies, the research shows how CSOs help connect PWDs with the rest of society. The results prove that when communities speak up and work together, it helps create a world where PWDs can join in all parts of life. This case study gives useful lessons to people who make rules, those who work in this field, and other CSOs who want to copy good ways to empower PWDs.
