Exploring the mediating role of job satisfaction in enhancing lecturer performance: A study of competence and work environment in higher education

Abstract: This research explores the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationship between competence, work environment, and lecturer performance in higher education. By applying Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), data from 250 lecturers at various universities were analyzed. The findings suggest that job satisfaction significantly mediates the relationship between competence and lecturer performance, as well as between work environment and lecturer performance. These results offer valuable insights for higher education institutions seeking to improve lecturer performance through strategic interventions focused on job satisfaction
