Abstract: For the first time, data on the conceptualization of the image of a doctor in the linguistic consciousness of adolescents aged 13-16 years were compared, which allows us to speak about the novelty of the study. The scientific object is an associative representation of the concept DOCTOR, the subject is the cognitive features of the concept DOCTOR. The aim of this study is to determine how the cognitive aspects of a specific concept are reflected in the linguistic understanding of teenagers who have been born with heart problems and have undergone heart surgery, compared to their peers who do not have these health issues. The survey group included 56 adolescents who underwent surgery for congenital heart disease a year after surgery and 56 conditionally healthy adolescents. The general population consisted of 166 associates formed according to the data of the psycholinguistic experiment in the focus group with the stimulus word "doctor", and 129 reactions in the comparison group. The results of the scientific study showed that adolescents with congenital heart disease gave fewer individualized reactions than participants in the comparison group, and practically no associations with the evaluation component. If the doctor himself was at the core of the concept in the comparison group, then the hospital stay scenario came out in the first place in the focus group, which is logical, given the fact that young patients with congenital heart disease require constant medical supervision.
