Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This investigation started from the analysis of the uses of the theory on school violence in the country’s Normal schools in order to understand how this problem is described, interpreted and discussed from the research carried out in such institutions. The methodology was supported by three premises: 1) Critical theory on research about education locates the role of thought in its logic, history and social context. 2) The role of politics as the place where institutions are questioned. 3) Political violence recognizes the enforced demanding of one of the parties by establishing their purposes, norms and rules. The conclusions point that violence in normal schools express a unilateral political mandate on the form of government, direction, organization and institutional regulations. School violence and political violence indicate necessary changes in normalist institutions in their forms of participation, organization and responses. In the future, it is necessary to investigate the institutional violence itself in the Normal schools from its actors, in order to understand the new citizenships, the current working conditions, the prevailing violence until the establishment of consensual norms for the institutional democratic exercise.
