Abstract: Recently an instructor came to us, disappointed in how lethargic her undergraduate class had become. Most of her students were juniors and seniors and had taken previous courses with content that overlapped the course she was teaching (sex and gender). Much of the reading material was familiar to them, and she could see they were becoming more and more disengaged. She asked what she could do.
