Abstract: Summary We describe and illustrate the evergreen and epiphytic fern Lepisorus boninensis (H.Christ) Ching, endemic to the Bonin Islands in Japan. This species can be recognised by the dimorphic leaves, the ovate and clathrate scales on the rhizome, and the irregularly‐shaped paraphyses growing between sporangia of the sori.
