Abstract: The paper suggests a comparative overview of two dialectal works by different authors, based on dialectal material recorded from comparable regions in terms of the investigated areas and in terms of the period during which the collections of the material under consideration were carried out. The works in question are Vasile Frățilă’s Graiul de pe Târnave. Texte și glosar, published by Astra Publishing House, the “Timotei Cipariu” Section, Blaj, 2006, and another, in manuscript, titled Texte dialectale. Centrul Transilvaniei by Maria Marin, Bogdan Marinescu and Iulia Mărgărit, containing, besides a rich collection of dialectal texts, a glossary and a linguistic study on the morphosyntax of these regional varieties, written by Maria Marin. The two research works are similar to a great extent, both in terms of the investi-gated area and in terms of the particularities derived from the transcribed texts and the description of the material itself. The differences mainly concern the relationship between the speaker of the regional variety and the dialectal researcher, a relationship which is present and pro-minent in all types of dialectal investigations in the work of the researchers from Bucharest, as in many other works of this kind, while in Vasile Frățilă’s work it is often neglected, blurred, so that, most of the time, after entire pages of text it is merely understated, implied and not evident,
